"forget Black Friday - this year, i’m celebrating my official birthday (cause well 1 just isn’t enough!) by "trooping the colour" & joining Holly & Co's "Colour Friday"
Colour Friday is a movement, started by Holly Tucker founder of "Not on the High Street" & "Holly & Co"
it celebrates the creativity & resilience of wee businesses like mine & the kweens who make it all possible - that you btw!
so here’s a wee thought: what if we ditched the stress, waste & capitalist (sorry for using the “C” word) vibes of Black Friday & become retail rebels by making it about creativity & meaning instead?
get this: last year, as a nation, we spent £13.3 billion on Black Friday, but here’s the catch:
- almost half of shoppers said they rarely used what they bought - (wtaf!)
- a third regretted their purchases - (no way, this is v bad)
- more than half of us worried about the environmental impact - (mother earth is feeling it big time!)
now imagine if that £13.3 billion went toward supporting wee businesses instead - wee businesses like mine, that:
- care about the environment - (sustainability is my jam, kween)
- will put an average of £0.63 back into the local community - (compared to the big corporates (think amazon) who average at less than £0.05)
this is why i’m shouting loud for Colour Friday
so i'm thinking what's on your wish list?
maybe you’ve been eyeing a kweenie original, dreaming of a kweenie fine art print, needing a kweenie hardback journal to vent your feels or are just thinking f*ck it:
"i'll have the lot, merry christmas to me, from me"
then now’s your chance...
you can shop till you drop & together, we’ll be trooping the colour & showing the world that wee businesses (& kweens) can make a BIG impact...
